Writing blog-posts with source code
An overview of syntax-highlighting and source-code formatting plugins for Windows Live Writer
Postings for blogs I write with Windows Live Writer.
To support syntax highlighting a plugin must be used. Actual source code is formatted with the plugin Code Snippet plugin for Windows Live Writer.
Tested formatters
The following formatters are tested, but in my opinion thats not a good decision:
- Insert Code for Windows Live Writer i miss the capability to specify a box which includes the source code content.
- Live Writer Source Code Formatter Plugin not convincing.
Untested formatters
The following formatters should be tested sometimes.
- BlogMyCode VS2005 PlugIn
- Source Code Formatter seems to be a good one
- Code Prettify for Windows Live Writer needs Google Code Prettify to work correctly
- Syntax Highlighter for Windows Live Writer (based on the JScript-Lib of Alex Gorbatchev) Arnold Matusz’s Blog Dirk’s Development
